James Knox, formerly managing director of The Art Newspaper has been appointed as the new director of the Fleming-Wyfold Art Foundation. Established in 2000 the Foundation owns one of the most significant collections of privately owned Scottish art and runs the Fleming Gallery in, London.

Prior to working at The Art Newspaper, Knox ran his own arts consultancy and is the author of several books on subjects including Robert Byron, Osbert Lancaster and The Scottish Country House. 

He will take up the post in May.
