BAFTA win for Steve McQueen

The award for Best Film at the 2014 BAFTAs has been given to film director and Turner Prize-winning artist Steve McQueen, for his movie 12 Years a Slave, while Best Actor went to the film’s lead Chiwetel Ejiofor.

The film is also nominated for eight OSCARS, which will be announced at the 86th Academy Awards ceremony, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, on 2 March.
