Curator and writer Venus Lau has been appointed as artistic director of OCAT Shenzhen. Based both in Beijing and Hong Kong, Lau has won the Chinese Contemporary Art Awards for Critics, and has written for Artforum, Flash Art, Kaleidoscope and LEAP (where she is also a contributing editor). She has been chair of the non-profit Society for Experimental Cultural Production, and is currently consulting curator at the Ullens Center for contemporary art in Beijing.
