A report in the Japan Times goes on to explain that the artist had been detained on obscenity charges for distributing data that could be downloaded to create an obscene shape, in that it allowed recipients to make 3-D models of her vagina.
Igarashia, who at the time of writing was still being held, used the crowdfunding website Campfire last year to collect money in exchange for the data, in order to pay for the cost of a kayak which she had made, also based on the shape of her genitals.
The report goes on to say that, according to her lawyer, if convicted Igarashia could face up to two years in prison or a maximum fine of ¥2.5 million.
