The Art Gallery of Western Australia, in Perth, has added a humanoid robot, named Aggie, to its team of gallery guides, known as ‘Guru Guides’. Places can be booked on Aggie’s monthly tours of the collection and children’s art activity workshops. Launched in May, the 58cm tall bot, developed in partnership between the Gallery and Perth-based robotic-technology company Smartbots, walks, talks, sings, dances and winks, and we trust also knows her art history.
