Artist Ai Weiwei has been back in contact with Berlin’s Universität der Künste (University of the Arts) regarding starting the Enstein Visiting Professorship post he had been offered shortly before his detention by the Chinese authorities in 2011, but which he had been unable to take up until the return of his confiscated passport last month.
An announcement on the university’s website explains that the post has a duration of three years and that it it expected that students will come from disciplines including architecture, media and communcations as well as fine arts.
It’s expected that Ai Weiwei will take up the position in October.
