Bristish artist Nathaniel Mellors and Finnish Erkka Nissinen have been chosen to represent Finland at the 57th edition of the Venice Biennale in 2017 with their proposal The Aalto Natives. The exhibition, curated by Xander Karskens, will transform the Finnish Pavilion into an immersive environment making use of multimedia installations including ‘a video, sculpture and a talking egg’.

The project by the two artists was selected from 96 proposals submitted through an open call, by a jury including curator Katerina Gregos, Taru Elfving, and Maaretta Jaukkuri, professor Sarat Maharaj, Leevi Haapala, director of the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, and artist Patrik Söderlund.
