Katie Hollander appointed executive director of Creative Time

The New York-based nonprofit public arts organisation Creative Timehas appointed Katie Hollander as their new executive director. Hollander joined Creative Time in 2008 and served as deputy director, and most recently as acting director following the departure of Anne Pasternak, who took over as director of the Brooklyn Museum. Before Creative Time, she served as the executive director of ArtTable, Inc., a non-profit for professional women in the visual arts.

Hollander oversaw multiple public arts project during her time at the organisation, including Kara Walker’s A Subtelty (a gigantic, Africanised white-sugarcoated sphinx at the Domino Sugar Factory), and her first project as director will be Duke Riley’s Fly By Night, a series of performances featuring a massive flock of pigeons flying in above the East River scheduled to start in May.
