Liverpool Biennial has announced the theme and preliminary artist list for its 2020 edition. Titled The Stomach and the Port, Liverpool Biennial’s 11th edition is curated by Manuela Moscoso with director, Fatoş Üstek and the Liverpool Biennial team. The theme engages with the idea of the body, not only as an individual being, but also as ‘a fluid organism that is continuously shaped by and shaping its environment’ – using the port city as a point of departure. The biennial, which will host a public programme of performances, screenings and free exhibitions, will be presented at various locations in Liverpool including Bluecoat, FACT, Open Eye Gallery, Tate Liverpool and Victoria Gallery & Museum, as well as public spaces and historic sites between 11 July – 25 October.
