Megumi Igarashi has been found guilty of breaking Japan’s obscenity laws, The Guardian reports. The artist, who works under the name Rokudenashiko (trans. ‘good for nothing girl’), was arrested last year and has just sat trial for distributing data that would allow people to 3D print her vagina and for displaying a plaster version of a kayak inspired by her own genitals. According to Japan’s obscenity laws, anyone found guilty of a breach can be sentenced to a maximum of two years in prison or a fine of up to ¥2.5m. Igarashi’s prosecutors settled for a fine of ¥400,000 (£2,575).
