Tiffany to become lead sponsor of the Whitney Biennial for its next three editions

The jeweller Tiffany & Co. is to become the lead sponsor of the Whitney Biennial with a gift of $5m to support its next three editions (2017, 2019 and 2021), the New York Observer reports. The announcement of this partnership coincides with the opening of the new Whitney Museum building designed by Renzo piano, scheduled to open on 1 May in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, where the biennial will now take place.
