The Whitechapel Gallery, London’s curator Omar Kholeif will curate the Armory Focus Initiative at the 2015 edition of the New York art fair. Next year the curated section of the fair will focus on the Middle East, North Africa, and the Mediterranean region (MENAM) and will include solo and curated group presentations, site-specific projects and a dedicated symposium.The section will be presented in collaboration with non-profit arts and education enterprise Edge of Arabia.
In addition to his role at the Whitechapel Kholeif is also Senior Visiting Curator at Cornerhouse and HOME, Manchester, and Senior Editor of Ibraaz Publishing. Prior to that he led Art and Technology at SPACE, London which involved directing The White Building) and was Curator at FACT, Foundation for Art and Creative Technology, Liverpool.
