Peter J. Amdam, 1971–2016

Peter J. Amdam, the Oslo-based critic, curator, hardcore musician and artist, has died. Recent curatorial projects included Refraction: The Image Of Sense at Blain|Southern, London, and Life: Within Such Limits at Carl Kostyál, Stockholm. His first solo exhibition as an artist was in the in spring 2014, From the Depths of Separation, at Lynx, Oslo, though he had previously collaborated with Matias Faldbakken. Educated at the University of Oslo where he studied comparative literature and aesthetic theory, Amdam was a leading member of the Norwegian Straight Edge scene, performing in various bands including Onward, Sportswear, and most recently For Pete’s Sake.
