Museums partnerships announced for Prix Pictet Photography Prize

Prix Pictet, the global prize for photography and sustainability, is to be presented in partnership with the V&A in London and the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, it was announced Wednesday 3 July 2013.

The partnerships, which signal a new phase in the development of the Prix Pictet, will provide a major platform for the work of photographers shortlisted for the Prix Pictet, alternating between London and Paris and beginning with the V&A in Spring 2014.

The announcement was made at Les Rencontres d’Arles international photography festival, which marks the launch of the fifth cycle of the Prix Pictet, with a theme of ‘Consumption.’ Selections for the shortlist will be made by the Jury in November 2013. The exhibition of work by photographers shortlisted for the Prix Pictet will open to the public in late May 2014 at the V&A. Kofi Annan, Honorary President of the Prix Pictet, will announce the winner at a special ceremony held the evening before the public opening.
