The Aichi Triennale Organizing Committee has announced that the director of Mori Art Museum and president of the International Committee for Museums and Collections of Modern Art (CIMAM) will take up the role of artistic director for Aichi Triennale 2022.
Kataoka, who is from Aichi Prefecture, was chosen based on her experience as an international curator and director having worked as director of Mori Art Museum since 2003, co-artistic director for the 9th Gwangju Biennale, South Korea (2012), and as artistic director of the 21st Biennale of Sydney (2018). She will be the first female artistic director of Aichi Triennale.
