Artist Carlos Amorales will work the NGO WIEGO to produce reusable face masks to be distributed amongst workers in Mexico City’s informal economy. The initiative plans to source the masks from small sewing businesses, providing them with much-needed support in the midst of the economic insecurity brought on by the global health crisis.

3,500 masks will be handed out to workers in public spaces on a weekly basis. Amorales’ gallery Kurimanzutto, who are collaborators on the project, shared the details via their Instagram page.
