The 2015 Turner Prize shortlist has been announced, and includes three women artists and an architecture and design collective.

German Nicole Wermers is nominated for her work Infrastruktur (Infrastructure) at the Herald Street gallery in London showing Marcel Breuer chairs with fur coats sewn into them; artist and Goldsmith lecturer Bonnie Camplin is shortlisted for The Military Industrial Complex at South London Gallery, which explores issues around ‘consensus reality’, particularly with regard to mental health; Canadian artist Janice Kerbel is in the running for an operatic performance work about a character called Doug who experiences nine catastrophic events, staged last year in Glasgow; and finally, the London-based architect studio Assemble is nominated for The Granby Four Streets project, which involved the restoration of a cluster of terraced houses using low-cost materials and demolition waste in a formerly run-down area of Liverpool.

The nominees, who each take away at least £5,000, were announced at Tramway in Glasgow, where an exhibition of works by the four shortlisted artists will run from 1 October – 17 January 2016. The winner will be announced on December 7.
